A downloadable game for Windows

Victor’s Ascent is a 2D vertical platformer where players take on the role of Victor, a prisoner striving to escape a tower dungeon after being thrown in by a knight guard. To reach freedom, he must climb past dangerous obstacles like spikes, chains, and stone enemies. The game features two possible endings—a good or bad outcome—depending on whether the player finds the essential escape item placed somewhere at the top before they escape.

This game was developed in Unity for PC. Some assets used were sourced from creators on itch.io. Victor’s Ascent was created as a final project for the courses Advanced Game Design and Game Production, developed by a team of two.

Install instructions

  1. Click the Download button to get the .exe file.
  2. Once the download is complete, locate the file in your Downloads folder (or wherever your browser saves files).
  3. Double-click the .exe file to launch the game.
  4. If a Windows security prompt appears, select Run anyway (this is normal for unsigned indie games).
  5. No installation is required — the game will open and run immediately.

No additional programs or libraries are needed.
